The Phenomenon of Online Gambling And Its Impact On Society's Economy

Abstrak

This study examines the phenomenon of online loans (pinjol) as part of modern lifestyle and its implications for consumerism in society. With easy access and quick processing, online loans have become increasingly popular, but they also contribute to excessive consumer behavior. The aim of this research is to analyze the role of online loans in shaping a consumerist lifestyle and their impact on individual financial stability. The research method used is a qualitative approach, including in-depth interviews and observations with online loan users, as well as literature analysis. The results show that online loans are primarily used to satisfy consumer desires rather than urgent needs, leading to increased consumer debt and financial dependency. The study also finds that better financial education and stricter regulatory oversight are needed to mitigate the negative impacts of online loans on personal finances and the economy at large.
